State Executive Council

Florida FCCLA’s State Executive Council is a group of elected students who serve as the representative body of the state association. Members of the council are elected annually at the State Leadership Conference.

Meet the 2022-2023 State Executive Council

Paula Avellaneda

STATE PRESIDENT

District X, Region V

Paula Avellaneda is serving Florida FCCLA as the State President. She has been an active member of FCCLA for the last six years. She is a senior at Hialeah Gardens Senior High School. For Paula, FCCLA has been an outlet through which she can improve her leadership abilities. At the chapter level, she serves as the Chapter Vice President of Public Relations. Outside of FCCLA, Paula can be found participating in her school’s varsity Mock Trial team, where she plays the role of an attorney. Previous to that, she further served as the JV mock trial co-captain at her school and has also achieved first place at the We the People Competition in 2021 with her constitutional law class. Alongside these positions, Paula is also a member of her school’s FFEA chapter, Women’s of Tomorrow, Florida Law and Debate Honor Society, and Speech and Debate. She aspires to be a criminal defense attorney and own her own law firm in the future.


Alice François

Alice François is serving Florida FCCLA as the State President-Elect. She is also an HCHS cheerleader, a member of the Beta Club, and a member of her school’s weightlifting team. She loves the travel and networking opportunities presented to her via FCCLA. For Alice, FCCLA has given her the confidence to be an advocate and voice her ideas. She hopes to make this year count and meet as many members as possible.


Ella Cummings

Ella Cummings is serving Florida FCCLA as the Vice President of Junior Relations. She has been an active FCCLA member for the last four years. She is a freshman attending Sumner High School in Tampa, Florida. Serving as a state officer hasn’t been her only leadership position, she has also served as Chapter President and student council president. She actively volunteers in the community through the Feed Tampa Bay organization. In her free time, you can find her shopping with friends at the mall, reading, and going to the gym. In the future, Ella hopes to become an author or elementary school teacher. 


Killian Kelly

Killian Kelly is serving Florida FCCLA as the State Vice President of Parliamentary Law and Careers and Alumni. He has been an engaged member of FCCLA for one year. Before joining the State Executive Council, Killian also served as his chapter’s President. Outside of FCCLA, Killian is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, AP Capstone Program, Freshman Council, and the Childcare program at his school. He is also a big brother of two and a bagger at his local grocery store. In his free time, you can find him reading, listening to music, and writing. Once he graduates high school, he plans to major in criminology to become a prosecuting attorney.


Kaitlin Vinson

Kaitlin Vinson is serving Florida FCCLA as the State Vice President of Public Relations and Management. She has been in FCCLA for the last two years and competed in two STAR events, earning gold in both competitions. Kaitlin attends Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida. Outside of FCCLA, she plays club soccer and is active in her local parish. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and traveling — her favorite place she has traveled to is Italy! She hopes to one day become a nurse or a speech pathologist.


Mahe Cruz

Mahe Cruz is happily serving her second year on the State Executive Council as the State Vice President of Community Service. She has been an active member of FCCLA since 6th grade and is coming on her seventh year of membership. To her, FCCLA has been a way to learn how to lead by example. She currently attends Hialeah Gardens High School in Miami, Florida where she is a senior. At the chapter level, she also serves as the Chapter Vice President of Competitive Events. Outside of FCCLA, she serves as a Chapter President of FFEA (Florida Future Educators of America) and Club President of Trail Blazers (a future business owners club). She hopes to one day become an elementary school teacher.

State Officer Request

If you would like a State Officer to visit your Chapter or District to present a workshop, give a keynote presentation, and/or give a greeting, please request their attendance through the State Officer request form. All requests should be sent at least three weeks prior to the date of the local in-person or virtual meeting or due date of the video request.

Florida National Executive Council Members

Jorge Sanchez

NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

District VI, Region III

For over six years, Jorge Sanchez has served FCCLA as a passionate and inspiring leader. Prior to serving on the National Executive Council, he served primarily as Florida’s State President. Jorge’s years in FCCLA have allowed him to participate in competitive events, national programs, and outreach opportunities through national partners. Outside of FCCLA, Jorge serves as a student ambassador for Junior Achievement, Chapter President of DECA, and a member of various school-based leadership and outreach organizations. He hopes that his passion and service lead him to a career dedicated to making the world a better place.

National Officer Request

If you would like a National Officer to visit your Chapter or District to present a workshop, give a keynote presentation, work with your Officer team, and/or give greeting, please request their attendance through the National Officer request form. Members of the National Executive Council may also be requested for a virtual appearance or to host a webinar using the National Officer video request form. All requests should be sent at least three weeks prior to the date of the local in person or virtual meeting or due date of the video request.
