Florida FCCLA recognizes its members and advisers for their outstanding dedication and achievement through a variety of recognition programs:
THE FLORIDA ASSOCIATION, FCCLA, will award one or more $1,500.00 scholarship annually to outstanding FCCLA senior (s) planning to enroll in an accredited college or university to major in FACS at the bachelor degree level. The Frances Champion Scholarship, one of the $1,500.00 scholarships, is awarded to the applicant with the highest qualifications. Students in any year of college may also apply. High school applicants will be given first preference.
The purpose of this award is to recognize home economists for outstanding contributions and continuing service to the FCCLA association and Family and Consumer Sciences programs.
The purpose of the Student Distinguished Service Award is to recognize any member of FCCLA for outstanding contributions and service to the FCCLA and FACS program. This student may be a Junior or Senior in high school.
The purpose of honorary membership is to recognize those persons whose professional responsibilities are not directly related to the FCCLA and FACS programs, yet who have made outstanding contributions to the state association. This includes persons in business and industry, community leaders, personnel from public and private agencies and organizations, and former FCCLA members.
FCCLA recognizes its members and advisers for their outstanding dedication and achievement through a variety of recognition programs. Students can participate in STAR Events, Students Taking Action with Recognition, on the local, state, and national level. Students are recognized for their achievements through national program awards, completion of Power of One, and for their efforts in membership recruitment. FCCLA recognizes the importance of higher education and strives to award scholarships to FCCLA members through various programs and universities that will assist them in continuing their education and leadership development. FCCLA Members may also apply for a scholarship to participate in a six-week Japanese Exchange Program during the summer. The Adviser Recognition Program seeks to reward outstanding local advisers for their significant contributions to FCCLA. Recognition is given through the Master Adviser, Adviser Mentor, and Spirit of Advising Awards. More information on these National Recognition Awards can be found on the National Website
